Kentucky Bahá’í School 2013 starts Tomorrow!

This year’s Kentucky Bahá’í School is almost here! The KYBS Committee is excited that the school is going to be filled with such wonderful people and confident in the richness and sweetness of the programs prepared by our adult and youth facilitators and children’s class teachers. The weather looks like it is going to be great except for a bit of rain Friday night and Saturday morning.

As you start to pack, I have prepared a list of some things to bring or consider bringing:

-Your own bedding (blankets, single-size sheets, pillows) *required if spending the night
-Towels*, toiletries, bathrobe and shower shoes (the bathrooms are shared)
-Registration Forms if not already returned:  liability waiver, license to use photos, medical release, and sponsorship form (if sponsoring someone under the age of 18)
-yoga mat, recreational sports equipment or games (Optional)
-talent show materials such as musical instruments (Optional)
-tennis shoes, bug repellent, sunscreen, hat, jacket, flashlight, umbrella
-prayer book
-money to purchase books in the bookstore during breaks and recreational time
-extra food if you have special diet requirements

Check-in will begin Friday, September 20th from 6-10pm. Please remember that we will not be able to process credit cards at check-in or in the bookstore. Please bring a check or cash if you have any balance due. A meal will NOT be served Friday night.

There will be a small lake for canoeing (but not swimming) Saturday afternoon during recreation time weather permitting. A lifeguard will be at the camp to distribute life vests and watch those on the lake during this time. There will also be a special musical performance during the Saturday night coffee house by singer/songwriter Anna Luxion. Don’t forget about the legendary talent show. There are lots of fun and exciting things to look forward to this year!

Thank you for your patience throughout the registration process and continued patience this weekend as we become accustomed to the school’s home for the year, Lion’s Camp Crescendo. There will not be an internet connection available. A map to the camp can be found at http://www.lions-campcrescendo.org/facilities.html. If you have children, please read over the School Standards with your children so that the guidelines will be understood before you arrive.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Registrar at 314-504-8895 or any of the other KYBS Committee members with your questions and concerns. See you soon!
